SportShare is a cutting-edge platform that provides a convenient and easy-to-use solution for those looking to rent outdoor equipment. Our platform connects equipment owners with renters, enabling individuals to enjoy outdoor activities and adventures without the need to purchase expensive gear.
To ensure the safety and protection of both equipment owners and renters, we have developed ShareCare - a comprehensive protection package that covers a range of scenarios. The following outlines the different liability scenarios and corresponding coverage levels:
- If the equipment owner opts out and renter opts out, the liability remains solely on the renter since they are not covered by ShareCare.
- If the equipment owner opts out and renter opts in, the renter is covered up to a maximum of $500, with liability still on the renter.
- If both the equipment owner and renter opt in, the renter is covered up to a maximum of $500, and the equipment owner is covered up to an additional $500, with liability still on the renter.
- If the equipment owner opts in and renter opts out, the liability remains on the renter to pay for any damages, but SportShare will provide an additional $500 to the equipment owner.
In order to opt-in to ShareCare, a protection package that covers liability for both renters and equipment owners, there is a cost of 10% of the total transaction. Any other discrepancies will be arbitrated through our incident form, which can be found in our policies. At SportShare, we are committed to providing a safe and secure platform for all of our users.
